Edmonds Career Guidance - About Me
I hold a 1st Class Honours Graduate Diploma in Guidance Counselling and am a full member of the Irish Institute of Guidance Counsellors.
My original professional qualification was an Honours Electronic Engineering Degree, which led to my working in a variety of Engineering roles: as a Test Engineer; as a Software Engineer; and as an IT Engineer. During this time, I gained considerable experience in the Telecommunications and IT industries. I also experienced living in other countries, while working in Germany, Sweden and the UK, before returning to Ireland.
Subsequently, I obtained an Honours Arts Degree and worked with people having developmental disabilities, in Alaska and in Ireland; this work included facilitating community integration programmes and instructing in computer literacy.
Still looking for my best job match, I again returned to study, became a Career Guidance Counsellor and now work in this sector.
I consider myself extremely fortunate to have found this area of work. It offers me tremendous job satisfaction, fitting my values and abilities as well as my personal circumstances. Also, my varied life and work experiences contribute significantly to my ability to perform to the highest standard in a guidance role.
